February Fiesta Kicks Off Rams Cycling Season!

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Celebrate cycling with food and music at the 2nd annual February Fiesta on February 28 upstairs at the Rio Grande Restaurant in downtown Fort Collins to raise funds to support CSU Rams Cycling’s upcoming season with a silent auction.

“Getting the Fort Collins community together is the perfect way to kick off a great collegiate road season and support CSU cycling,” said Nick Truitt, president of Rams Cycling. “Rams Cycling depends on the support of the Northern Colorado community.”

The evening will kick off at 6 p.m. and all ticketed entries will receive a burrito buffet from Rio Grande Restaurant and access to a silent auction on dozens of goods, services and valuable cycling memorabilia.

“This is a great opportunity to bring the Fort Collins community to support and get to know the 4th place collegiate cycling team in the country ” said Andy Clark, Rams Cycling Director Sportif.

Last year’s fiesta was a success by raising more than $3000, and took both a road and mountain bike team to nationals in 2006. With the possibility of adding a road race to Rams Cycling’s race weekend in April, the team is looking to raise additional funds to cover road permits.

The upcoming season is looking intense and full of commitment from the team and community. Come shake off the chilly winter with a margarita and celebration of cycling.

Catch the Buzz - Rams Cycling kicks off coffee fundraiser

The BUZZ in the CLUB

Your 4th place nationally ranked Rams cycling team is raising much needed funds to be used for physiological testing and training to further improve the team, so we can squash CU like the bugs they are. This important testing costs each team member $375 and helps us tailor training to take advantage of each rider’s strengths and abilities.

To raise this money, we are proud to offer you the highest quality Arabica coffee beans from the world’s great coffee-growing regions, roasted to perfection by our fundraising partner, the Buzz, and delivered to your door. This is the freshest, most flavorful coffee you will ever drink. If that isn’t enough of a reason to participate remember that 50% of your purchase is a donation to Rams Cycling!

You may purchase a single delivery or, for even greater convenience, buy in ten-week subscription blocks. With your purchase of 20 or more weeks, we have included valuable bonuses in appreciation of your support.

Each week you will receive an 8 oz. package of fresh whole-bean coffee for the low price of $10 (remember, $5 of this goes directly to CSU cycling). Since you only receive one week’s worth of coffee, you will never drink old, stale coffee again. Coffee is at its best within 2 weeks of roasting, and should be used within 30 minutes of being ground. Don’t have a grinder? No problem! With a 20-week or more subscription, you can choose from bonus gifts including a free coffee grinder, free coffee, and merchandise coupons.

The Buzz is pleased to offer the finest coffees from around the world. Coffees ranging from the bold, deep-bodied coffees of Indonesia and the Pacific, to the classic coffees of Eastern Africa, and the bright, brisk coffees characteristic of Central and South America. All of our coffees are 100% Arabica and are grown, harvested, and processed using environmentally responsible and sustainable practices. Our coffees return a premium price to the small farmers who grow them, insuring they receive a livable wage. The Buzz also donates a percentage of profits to charitable organizations that benefit children around the world.

Our Coffees

EPO (Extreme Power Output) - Perfect for espresso or as a bold drip coffee. A truly international coffee.
Pan-Am - A bright coffee blended from Central and South American beans with an eye-opening aroma.
The Green Train - Created from the finest African coffees. Full body and exciting flavor notes.
On the Rivet - Featuring the unique coffees of the Indonesian islands. Bold, exotic flavor and a great finish.

Rams Cycling Team takes 4th in the nation at the 2006 NCAA Mountain Bike Championships

I am proud of our riders who went to the NCAA Mountain Bike Championship. We had a number of suturing performances. The team ended the weekend as the 4th place mountain bike team in the nation. The men's and women's teams in both the gravity and endurance races had top ten finishes and one podium finish. We had an amazing time and have a camaraderie and team unity that defines the cycling program at Colorado State University.

We have great riders here and a riding community that is based on hard work and commitment to the team and to our teammates. The team showed great support to each other in both successes and difficulties this past weekend in Angel Fire, NM. This camaraderie is what is bringing us success now and will bring us more in the future.

I want to thank everyone that is involved with this program, from the sponsors and CSU Sport Clubs to all the club members. Most of all I want to thank all of the riders who train so hard and are brave enough to compete. Your courage is inspiring.

Thank you all,
AC
